Synopsis

Set during the Ming dynasty, when Japanese pirates had long been eliminated from China, a swordsman tries to prove that his weapon was used by the famous General Qi’s regiment to resist Japanese pirates. While attempting to prove the sword’s identity, a top martial arts master finally obtains inner peace.

Chine, XVIème siècle. Deux guerriers débarquent dans une ville côtière du sud. Pris pour des pirates japonais en raison de leur sabre incurvé, Liang et son collègue arrivent en pleine guerre intestine entre les différentes écoles d’arts martiaux de la ville.

The Rebel by Charlie Nguyen

Synopsis

1920s. Vietnam under colonial French ruling. Anti-French rebellions emerge all over the country to disrupt the foreign occupiers. In respond, the colonialist employed units of Vietnamese agents to track and destroy these rebels. The film follows the journey of LE VAN CUONG, a French cultured undercover elite. Although branded with a perfect track record, Cuong's inner conscience is troubled by the sea of Vietnamese blood he had spilled to uphold a French washed ideal. Following an assassination of a high ranking French, Cuong is assigned to seek and kill the notorious leader of the resistance. Cuong encounters VO THANH THUY, a relentless revolutionary fighter and the daughter of the rebel leader. Cuong's superior intends for him to use Thuy as a mean to get to her father but Cuong soon has feelings for her. Thuy's patriotism ignites conflicts between Cuong's consciousness and his cultured faith. Will Cuong discover his inner-self and find love or will he continue his mission? The journey unfolds... »


Nous sommes en 1922. Le Vietnam est sous le dur joug des colonisateurs français. La colère des Vietnamiens gronde et des groupes de rebelles se forment partout aux 4 coins du pays. La France réplique en activant des unités secrètes autochtones pour débusquer les insurgés et éliminer les foyers de rébellion les uns après les autres. Cường est l'un de ces agents de police secrète à la solde des Français. Bien que son tableau de chasse soit des plus enviables, sa conscience est torturée par le sang des compatriotes qu'il a tués. Après l'assassinat d'un haut fonctionnaire français, Cường se voit confier la mission de chercher et d'exécuter le cerveau responsable de cette opération spectaculaire, Đề Cảnh. Ce faisant, il rencontre Thúy, une combattante rebelle redoutable et fille du dénommé Đề Cảnh. Son fervent patriotisme finira par faire basculer Cường... Un idylle naîtra entre Thúy et Cường malgré son passé de collabo servile...

Synopsis

When Manit was ten, he witnessed the gruesome murder of his parents, was shot and left for dead.
